Penumbra Gets CE Mark for Computer Assisted Vacuum Thrombectomy Technologies

Penumbra (PEN) said Monday it received the CE Mark in Europe for its computer-assisted vacuum thrombectomy technologies Lightning Flash 2.0 and Lightning Bolt 7.

The technologies are used to remove clots in the vascular system, the company said.

Penumbra said the products will assure doctors in Europe that computer-assisted vacuum thrombectomy is a reliable initial choice for treating diseases including pulmonary embolism, venous thrombosis, and sudden limb ischemia.

Shares of Penumbra rose 1% in recent trading.
