China Southern Airlines' (HKG:1055, SHA:600029) passenger capacity rose 12% year over year to 34.60 billion available seat kilometers (ASK) in August, according to a Friday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.
International passenger capacity climbed 61% to 7.99 billion ASK, while domestic passenger capacity rose 2% to 26.31 billion ASK.
Passenger count jumped 13.5% to 16.1 million, with domestic passenger load rising 10% to 14.2 million and international passenger load rising 54% to 1.7 million.
Cargo and mail volume was down 15.7% to 153,560 tons. Domestic cargo and mail volume declined 14% to 79,340 tons, while international cargo and mail volume ticked down 18.2% to 72,020 tons.
The company's stocks were down by over 3% during early trading.
