ALS (ASX:ALQ) expects its net profit to fall 5% in the fiscal first half ending Sept. 30, according a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.
However, the testing and analytics services firm also anticipates its earnings before interest and taxes, or EBIT, to be "slightly ahead" compared with the previous comparable period, the filing said.
The guidance was made following volume headwinds in its mineral division, offset by the expected growth in the life sciences division, the filing stated.
Additional outlook will be incorporated into the fiscal H1 results release scheduled for Nov. 19, as per the filing.
