The Hong Kong government will offer discounted fares on the MTR (HKG:0066), half-price movie tickets, and launch other events during China's National Day celebration on Oct. 1, the South China Morning Post reported Monday.

October's National Day celebration carry significance as it would be Hong Kong's first celebration since the enactment of the domestic national security law in March, the report said.

MTR will offer 25% off on light rail and MTR rides using Octopus cards, and 75 free passes for films, among other freebies, in keeping with the People's Republic of China's 75th anniversary, the report said.
