Air France-KLM Earnings, Profitability Set to Take Off -- Market Talk

Dow Jones09-25

1140 GMT - Air France-KLM looks set to record improvements in its earnings and profitability, JPMorgan analysts Harry J Gowers and Alexia Dogani say in a research note, upgrading their rating on the Franco-Dutch carrier to overweight from underweight. Underlying bookings and pricing appear to be more resilient than previously thought and the airline's winter capacity growth is the lowest among other network carriers, the analysts say. They add that around 600 million euros in one-off disruptions to earnings this year are not likely to repeat in 2025, and JPMorgan forecasts the company's EBIT margin next year at 6.3%, higher than what it was in 2023. The analysts forecast flat unit revenues for 2025, which they say may be conservative as the weight of the Olympics on travel to Paris wanes. Shares trade 7.6% higher at 9.05 euros.(pierre.bertrand@wsj.com)
