Dow Jones09-26 23:29

1129 ET - Natural gas in underground storage increased by 47 billion cubic feet last week to 3,492 Bcf and was 233 Bcf or 7.1% above the five-year average for the week, the EIA reports. The increase was below the 53 Bcf estimate in a Wall Street Journal survey of analysts, aided by a reclassification that led to an 8 Bcf decrease in working gas stocks in the South Central region. The surplus over the five-year average has declined in 19 of the past 20 weeks. Nymex natural gas for October delivery is off 1.3% at $2.602/mmBtu ahead of today's expiration.
