Hyliion Holdings (HYLN) said Friday that its Karno linear generator is now considered an eligible technology under California's Renewables Portfolio Standard, or RPS.
The Karno generator can use over 20 fuels, including renewable natural gas, hydrogen and ammonia, Hyliion said, adding this supports the RPS program that requires renewable energy sources to contribute 60% of retail electricity sales by the end of 2030.
Hyliion shares rose more than 4% in early trading Friday.
