ACCC Seeks Market Feedback on Sigma Healthcare, Chemist Warehouse Merger; Sigma Hits Fresh 52-Week High

MT Newswires Live10-01

Australia's Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is after market feedback on the proposed merger of Chemist Warehouse and Sigma Healthcare (ASX:SIG) and Sigma's draft undertaking can address competition concerns, the competition regulator said in a statement on Tuesday.

The ACCC continues to investigate the proposed acquisition's impact and invites submissions by Oct. 14. It raised several issues in June regarding competition concerns on retail and its impact on wholesale, the regulator said.

Separately, Sigma said in an Australian bourse filing that it continues to cooperate with the ACCC and welcomes the public consultation process.

Sigma shares jumped by almost 13% in recent Tuesday trade and earlier hit a new 52-week high.
