Tech stocks were mixed in late Thursday afternoon trading with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) up 0.3% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) shedding 0.9%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index gained 0.3%.
In corporate news, Microsoft (MSFT) provides an unfair advantage to its Edge web browser and the company should face strict EU rules, three rival browser firms and a group of web developers said in a letter to the European Commission, Reuters reported. Microsoft shares eased 0.4%.
Revolut asked Meta Platforms (META) to pledge to cover the losses of fraud victims, arguing that its collaboration with UK banks and financial bodies on sharing data doesn't adequately address the need to fight fraud globally. Meta shares rose 1.6%.
The US Department of Justice expanded its investigation into potential price-fixing involving SAP (SAP) and software reseller Carahsoft Technology, Bloomberg News reported. SAP shares fell 1.9%.
N2OFF (NITO) shares shed 2.2% after the company unveiled several initiatives, including the potential spinoff of its cleantech operations.
