Singapore Shares Rise 0.3% on Prospect of More Fed Rate Cuts -- Market Talk

0107 GMT - Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index rises 0.3% to 3597.30 in early trade, buoyed by the prospect of more Fed rate cuts. Sentiment could be lifted from Fed Chair Jerome Powell's overnight comments, who said that officials would continue reducing interest rates to maintain solid economic growth. Among best performers, Jardine Matheson Holdings climbs 1.4%, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding adds 1.2% and Keppel is 1.4% higher. Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines falls 1.0% and Wilmar International sheds 1.2%.(amanda.lee@wsj.com)
