Lifezone Metals (LZM) said Thursday that it signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with the Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security to facilitate the supply of clean nickel, copper and cobalt from the Kabanga nickel project to Japan's battery industry.
The company said the Kabanga project uses its Hydromet technology to produce cleaner metals compared with traditional smelting methods.
Under the terms of the agreement, Lifezone said it will collaborate with JOGMEC to supply metals from Kabanga through Lifezone's portion of marketing rights. Financial details were not disclosed.
