China's telecommunications services revenue rose 2.7% year over year to 1.17 trillion yuan during the January-August period, according to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Revenue from emerging businesses of China's largest telecommunications providers China Telecom (HKG:0728, SHA:601728), China Mobile (HKG:0941, SHA:600941), and China Unicom (SHA:600050) increased by about 11% to 289.7 billion yuan.
Cloud computing revenue jumped 12% while big data revenue surged 62%, the data showed.
