Hong Kong Bourse Employee Inherits SenseTime Stake

Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing (HKG:0388) managing director and adviser to the chief executive, Yang Qiumei, inherited a stake in SenseTime (HKG:0020) from her late husband.

Yang received 6,906,080,602 shares in the Chinese artificial intelligence giant, according to an August regulatory filing. The stake is equivalent to 20% of the company's shareholding, and is now worth $1.5 billion, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday.

The stake makes Yang the largest individual shareholder in the Chinese artificial intelligence giant with a 20% shareholding, according to the Hong Kong Exchange.

Her late husband, Tang Xiao'ou, died in December due to an undisclosed condition, Bloomberg reported.
