Elis Approaches UniFirst Amid Talks With Vestis, Bloomberg Reports, Citing Sources

-- French provider of workplace services and supplies Elis made an informal takeover proposal to U.S. peer UniFirst, Bloomberg reports, citing unnamed sources.

-- The companies aren't currently in talks and it remains to be seen whether the interest in UniFirst will be revised, after Elis's non-binding proposal for its U.S. peer was rejected in recent days, according to Bloomberg.

-- Meanwhile, Elis and Vestis are still holding exploratory talks about a potential deal, roughly a month after the French group confirmed it made a preliminary approach to the U.S. uniform supplier regarding a potential acquisition, Bloomberg reports.

-- Elis, UniFirst and Vestis didn't respond to a request for comment from Bloomberg.
