Fitch Gives A- Rating to Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group's Euro Notes

MT Newswires Live10-02

Fitch has placed an A- rating on Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group's (TYO:8316) 500 million euro seven-year senior unsecured notes, according to a Monday release.

The notes' rating is equivalent to the issuer's long-term default rating, with any action on the latter to result in a similar action on the notes.

The notes will be part of the banking group's total loss-absorbing capacity requirements and subordinated to its subsidiaries' senior liabilities.
