Queensland Pacific Metals to Change Name to QPM Energy; Shares Rise 6%

Queensland Pacific Metals (ASX:QPM) is set to change its name to QPM Energy, subject to shareholder approval, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.

The change reflects the company's businesses, namely as a supplier of gas and electricity from the Moranbah gas project, and a producer of battery-grade nickel and cobalt from the TECH project, the filing said.

The name change is not expected to impact the company's ticker, as per the filing.

Its shares rose 6% in recent Friday trade.
