Santana Minerals (ASX:SMI, NZE:SMI) signed agreements to purchase land and secure water for the Bendigo-Ophir gold project in New Zealand, according to a Friday filing with the Australian Securities Exchange.
The land purchase agreement allows the company to acquire 92 hectares of land and install water bores, pumps, infrastructure, and pipelines to supply water to the project, the filing said.
Additionally, the company completed hydrological drilling and water abstraction testing, enabling it to meet its operational water requirement, according to the filing.
Santana Minerals shares rose almost 11% in morning trade Monday in Australia, and nearly 7% in afternoon trade in New Zealand.
