Other major indexes followed the Dow's lead on the stock market today.\n\n\n\n↑\nX\n\n\n\n\nIndexes Dip, Small Caps Lag After Inflation Data: DVA, ALNY, UTHR In Focus\n\n\nSee All Videos\n\n\n\n\nNOW PLAYING\nIndexes Dip, Small Caps Lag After Inflation Data: DVA, ALNY, UTHR In Focus\n\n\n\n\nThe Dow climbed 0.7% in morning trades, clearing an intraday high reached on Sept. 27. It was helped by JPMorgan, which jumped 5% and is finding support at the 50-day moving average.\nOther Dow Jones components making strides Friday were American Express (AXP) and Goldman Sachs (GS). Both stocks are near all-time highs, but AmEx is extended after a test of its 10-week moving average last month. Goldman, meanwhile, broke out over a trendline Thursday and is still in a buy zone. Both companies report earnings next week.\nThe S&P 500 climbed 0.6%. Wells Fargo (WFC) was a top gainer in the S&P 500, up 5%, also on strong earnings. Wells' adjusted earnings fell to $1.42 per share, but still beat analyst estimates for a 13.5% decline to $1.28. Revenue slid about 2% to $20.37 billion, a touch below the $20.4 billion estimate. Wells Fargo lowered its credit loss provisions to $1.07 billion from $1.2 billion last year.\nThe Nasdaq composite switched gears and added 0.4% on the stock market today, while small caps on the Russell 2000 jumped 1.3%. The Nasdaq broke out over its recent high of 18,327, but has yet to top its all-time high of 18,671.\nBreadth on the Nasdaq exchange was nearly 2-to-1 positive. It was slightly more than 2-to-1 positive on the New York Stock Exchange.\nThe 10-year Treasury yield was flat around 4.09%. After soaring 23 basis points last week, the yield is up another 12 basis points this week as the market dials back Fed rate-cut expectations.\nStock Market Today: Tesla Helps Uber With Robotaxi\nTesla (TSLA) slumped after its robotaxi event fell flat with Wall Street analysts and company watchers. Shares tumbled 7% in morning action. But Uber (UBER) jumped more than 8% as the Tesla robotaxi wasn't seen as much of a threat to the ride-hailing giant. Uber gapped out of a 32-week consolidation.\nLeaderboard stock Nvidia (NVDA) didn't move much on the stock market today despite positive comments from Goldman Sachs, which lifted Nvidia's price target to 150 from 135. Nvidia broke out of a downtrend earlier in the week and crossed a 131.26 buy point. It's closing in quickly on its all-time high of 140.76.\nBank of America (BAC) was also among those outperforming in the S&P 500, up nearly 4%. BofA reports early Tuesday, along with Goldman Sachs.\n\nGauge Market Health With IBD's ETF Market Strategy\n\nLeaderboard stock DoorDash (DASH) was a top gainer in the Nasdaq 100, up 3%. IBD increased its position in the model portfolio after DoorDash stock moved bullishly above its recent high of 146.36.\nIn economic news on the stock market today, the latest reading on wholesale prices came in mixed. On a year over year basis, headline prices were up 1.8%, a little higher than the 1.6% consensus.
