Shenhua Energy Starts Operation of Certain Units of Huizhou Phase II; Shares Down 4%

China Shenhua Energy (HKG:1088, SHA:601088) put into commercial operation the third set of units of the Phase II gas-fired heat and power co-generation generator project, dubbed as the Huizhou Phase II, according to a Wednesday disclosure on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

The Chinese energy project's subsidiary, China Energy (Huizhou) Thermal Power, manages the project, which is located in the Petrochemical Area of Daya Bay Economic and Technological Development Zone, Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, China.

The project has two sets of 400-megawatt-class pumped-condensate gas-steam combined cycle co-generation units.

The units passed the consecutive 168-hour full-load trial operation before starting operations. The fourth set of units will begin the trial operation soon.

The company's shares on the Shanghai bourse dropped almost 4% and those on the Hong Kong bourse slipped nearly 3% in recent trade.
