Guzman y Gomez's Store Openings Set to Accelerate -- Market Talk

Dow Jones10-10

0007 GMT - Wilsons shrugs off initial disappointment at Mexican fast-food chain Guzman y Gomez's expansion of its store network in 1Q. It says net openings of five stores are "optically soft compared to the linear pro-rata of the FY 2025 IPO Prospectus forecast for 34." However, Wilsons expects a strong month for additions in Australia in October. It's also glad that the company will operate all of the stores added in 1Q, rather than franchising some of them. "We see upside risk to IPO prospectus forecasts and our earnings forecast, driven by the FY 2024 result beat and strong start to like-for-like" sales, analyst James Ferrier says.(david.winning@wsj.com; @dwinningWSJ)
