Chalice Mining Secures Major Project Status for Western Australia Project; Shares Up 3%

MT Newswires Live10-14

Chalice Mining (ASX:CHN) secured "major project status" from the Australian government for the Gonneville platinum group element, nickel, copper, and cobalt project in Western Australia, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

The designation was made to recognize the project's "national significance" related to the supply of Australia's critical mineral supply chain, the miner said in the filing.

It will allow Chalice to access the Major Projects Facilitation Agency to expedite the approval process for Gonneville, the filing added. The project already has a strategic project status bestowed by the Western Australian government last month.

The company's shares were up more than 3% in recent Monday trade.
