Winmark to Pay Special Dividend of $7.50 to Shareholders

Winmark's board of directors has approved the payment of a special dividend of $7.50 to its shareholders.

The Minneapolis-based company said Wednesday that the special dividend will total about $26.4 million based on the current number of shares outstanding. Cash on hand is expected to be used to finance the payment.

The special dividend will be paid on Dec. 2 to shareholders of record on Nov. 13.

The company also said a quarterly dividend of 90 cents per share will be paid on Dec. 2 to shareholders of record on Nov. 13.

Winmark is a franchising company that works with those interested in operating one of its businesses, including Plato's Closet and Play It Again Sports.
