Yancoal Australia (ASX:YAL, HKG:3668) recorded a 10% rise in attributable production volume of saleable coal to 10.2 million tons in the third quarter of 2024 from 9.3 million tons a year prior, according to a Thursday bourse disclosure.
Attributable sales during the quarter rose by 20% year over year to 10.4 million tons from 8.6 million tons in Q3 2023.
For the nine months ended Sept. 30, attributable output and sales grew by 15% and 19%, respectively, to 27.2 million tons and 27.3 million tons.
The average realized price for the coal producer fell by 14% year over year during the third quarter to AU$170 per ton and 28% in Q1-Q3 to AU$177 per ton.
Australia-listed shares of the firm closed over 1% lower on Thursday, while its Hong Kong-listed shares finished marginally lower.
