Sibanye Stillwater (SBSW) said Friday it expects its Q4 zinc output to be about 9,680 payable tonnes less than projected, following the suspension of operations at the Century mine in Queensland due to the impact of a bushfire.
The company disclosed an "extensive loss" of surface piping infrastructure that includes the feed and water lines connecting the hydro mine to the processing plant and other key service lines because of the bushfire.
The Century mine operations are expected to remain suspended until Nov. 16, it said.
Shares of Sibanye were up more than 7% in recent trading.
