China Economy Could Improve in 4Q After Stimulus Blitz -- Market Talk

Dow Jones10-18

0658 GMT - China's economy could see some improvement in 4Q in the wake of stimulus measures, which could help the country reach its 5% economic growth target this year, OCBC investment strategy managing director Vasu Menon says. China clearly needs more fiscal and monetary stimulus to boost its economy, Menon says, and investors are still waiting for details on the size and nature of the fiscal support that authorities have promised. Although Chinese equities markets reacted positively to the better-than-expected 3Q GDP data earlier, on-year growth was still lower than in 2Q and the slowest in six quarters, OCBC says.
