Star Entertainment Group (ASX:SGR) said its revised remediation plan for The Star Gold Coast and The Star Brisbane casinos has been approved and that it will remain in talks with authorities in relation to The Star Sydney's prolonged suspension, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.
As part of the remediation plan approval, the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation Queensland issued directions specifying certain requirements, including budgets and ongoing monitoring and oversight, the filing stated. The embattled casino operator said it will publish the overview of the revised plan in due course.
In a separate statement on Thursday, the New South Wales Independent Casino Commission confirmed earlier media reports of a pecuniary fine of AU$15 million against the ASX-listed gaming company due to several breaches.
Star Entertainment's shares rose nearly 14% at market close on Thursday following a voluntary trading halt earlier in the day.
