China National Offshore Oil Corporation or CNOOC (SHA:600938, HKG:0883) and French industrial gases giant Air Liquide pioneered the long-distance transport of a liquid hydrogen vessel to China, Xinhua reported Wednesday.
The vessel traveled 20,000 kilometers from the Dutch city of Rotterdam to Shenzhen's Yantian Port, the report said.
The long-distance offshore shipping of liquid hydrogen is seen as a new transport initiative for the hydrogen energy trade, Xinhua noted, with China's hydrogen production reaching 40 million tons annually.
CNOOC's shares rose 1% on the Hong Kong bourse.
