China Coal Energy's Attributable Net Profit Slips in Q3

China Coal Energy's (HKG:1898, SHA:601898) net profit attributable to shareholders fell 0.6% to 4.83 billion yuan in the third quarter of 2024, a Wednesday Hong Kong Bourse filing said.

Earnings per share stood at 0.36 yuan for the three months ended Sept. 30, 2.7% lower than the year-ago period.

Revenue of the Chinese coal producer increased to 47.4 billion yuan for the reporting period, 1.2% higher than the corresponding period last year.

For the first nine months of 2024, attributable profit tumbled 12.4% to 14.6 billion yuan, while the earnings for the nine months stood at 1.10 yuan per share.

For the nine months ended Sept. 30, revenue slid 10.1% to 140.4 billion yuan from the corresponding period last year.

The company's shares closed nearly 2% lower on Wednesday.
