Investors have been ramping up bets on the presidential election.

Some investors have been eyeing bullish trades tied to banks in a wager that Donald Trump will win and potentially loosen regulations tied to financials, said Danny Kirsch, head of options at Piper Sandler. He said activity has picked up in recent weeks. Others are betting that clean energy stocks will flourish under a Kamala Harris presidency, he said.

Over the past two elections, there's been a jump in volatility in the two weeks heading into the contest. Once the event passes, volatility has quickly subsided. Read more on election bets here:
