MT Newswires Live10-24

Didi Autonomous Driving, the autonomous driving unit of Chinese ride-hailing company Didi Global, secured $289 million in its latest series C funding round, Yicai Global reported Wednesday.

Didi and Guangzhou Automobile Group (HKG:2238, SHA:601238), or GAC, led the fundraiser. Both companies established a joint venture that manufactured the Level-4 or L4 autonomous robotaxi model that is set to be launched in 2025.

Proceeds from the fundraising will be used for the research and development of self-driving technologies and for the acceleration of the L4 model's release.
