Gold producer and explorer St Barbara (ASX:SBM) said the feasibility study for pumped hydro at the now closed Touquoy gold mine in Canada is ahead of schedule, with consultant Natural Forces confirming the system's technical feasibility, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian Securities Exchange.
The current focus is on costings and assessing the commercial viability of the pumped hydro system, the filing said.
The study, including initial capital cost estimates, is set to be completed between November and December, according to the filing.
