European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Track Lower in Monday Trading

European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were moving lower late Monday morning, declining 0.78% to 1,400.63 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by telecommunications company VEON (VEON) and petroleum refiner Equinor (EQNR), which rose 1.7% and 1% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications company Nokia (NOK) and oil and gas company Eni (E), which were up 0.5% each.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by semiconductor company Sequans Communications (SQNS) and medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP), which dropped 6.1% and 3.3% respectively. They were followed by financial services company Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) and biotech firm BioNTech (BNTX), which lost 2.7% and 1.9% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals (BDRX) and oil and gas company BP (BP), which increased 1.2% and 0.8% respectively. They were followed by oil and gas company Shell (SHEL) and biopharmaceutical company Verona Pharma (VRNA), which rose 0.2% and 0.3% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company TC Biopharm (TCBP) and biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics (AUTL), which fell 13% and 6.4% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics (AKTX) and biotech firm Trinity Biotech (TRIB), which were down 6.3% and 2.9% respectively.
