Morgan Stanley Holds Neutral View on U.S. Treasury Duration, Yield Curve Shape -- Market Talk

Dow Jones10-21 14:12

0611 GMT - Morgan Stanley Research keeps a neutral view on U.S. rates duration and on the shape of the Treasury yield curve until after the U.S. election, its strategists say. "Once investors see the results and respond, rates markets will likely move to price in risk premiums around a new baseline view of the future," they say. Investors' post-election view might be "substantially different" from that currently, they say. Duration refers to bonds that are more sensitive to moves in interest rates, usually longer-dated bonds. (emese.bartha@wsj.com)
