Beach Energy (ASX:BPT) produced the first gas from the Thylacine West 1 and 2 wells in the Otway Basin between South Australia and Victoria, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.
The wells were connected to the Otway gas plant via a subsea pipeline and are expected to contribute to the gas supply on the eastern coast of Australia, the filing said.
The company's shares were up almost 1% in recent Friday trade.
