U.S. Stocks Mostly Higher on Tesla's Big Plans -- Market Talk

1617 ET - U.S. stocks close mostly higher, with Tesla leading the S&P 500 by rising 22% as investors applaud better-than-expected 3Q results and Elon Musk's plans to produce millions of robots and self-driving cars. ADT gains 17% after the security company beats analyst expectations for 3Q results. Boeing falls 1% after the jet maker failed to reach a deal to end its labor strike. IBM slides 6%, following the tech giant's disappointing 3Q revenue. The DJIA loses 140 points, or 0.3%, to 42374 and is down for four consecutive sessions.
