Royal Caribbean Says AI is Boosting Pre-Boarding Spend -- Market Talk

Dow Jones00:10

1210 ET - Royal Caribbean passengers are spending more before they even board a cruise, CEO Jason Liberty tells analysts on a call. More than 70% of cruisers purchase onboard activities before setting sail, he says, and these cruisers spend about two times the average once they've embarked. Royal Caribbean posted $1.42 billion in onboard and other revenues in the third quarter, up from $1.22 billion a year ago. Liberty says onboard spending and pre-cruise purchases this year have already exceeded 2023 levels thanks to AI-powered booking channels. Shares rise 4.6%. (jasmine.li@wsj.com)
