0428 GMT - The Bank of Japan's outlook strikes a moderately hawkish tone, says Stefan Angrick at Moody's Analytics. Forecasts for growth and inflation suggest rate hikes remain on the horizon, the economist says. The projections have changed little, except for a slight upward revision to growth and a slight cut to inflation for FY 2025. "The BOJ argues that the economy has recovered moderately and is growing above its potential rate," Angrick says. It said consumption is on a "moderate increasing trend," marking a change from the "resilient" wording used in July, he adds. These cautiously upbeat assessments jar with a poor run of data seen over the past year, he says. "Japan's economy is treading water and evidence of demand-driven price pressure remains scarce."(fabiana.negrinochoa@wsj.com)
