Pilbara Minerals, Calix Defer Construction of Western Australian Plant

Pilbara Minerals (ASX:PLS) and environmental technology company Calix (ASX:CXL) will suspend construction of the Mid-Stream Demonstration Plant in Western Australia due to market conditions, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian Securities Exchange.

The project will be put on hold upon completion of works in progress until market conditions improve or more government support is secured, the filing said.

The plant remains on budget and is 60% complete to the end of September, according to the filing.

Pilbara Minerals shares fell nearly 3% in morning trade Thursday, while Calix shares gained more than 1%.
