Hecla Mining has hired Rob Krcmarov as the mining company's new president and chief executive.
Hecla on Monday said Krcmarov, who is also joining the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, company's board, most recently served as executive vice president of exploration and growth at Barrick Gold.
Hecla said Catherine Boggs, who has served as interim president and CEO since Phillips Baker Jr. retired in May, remains board chair.
Hecla also said it promoted Carlos Aguiar to senior vice president and chief operating officer from vice president of operations. Aguiar joined Hecla in 1996.
