Wesco International will acquire Ascent for $185 million, adding a data center facility management services provider to its portfolio.

The cash- and debt-free deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter, subject to customary regulatory approvals, the Pittsburgh-based distribution and logistics services provider said Thursday.

The acquisition will complement and expand upon Wesco's offerings, allowing the company to provide end-to-end solutions for next-generation artificial-intelligence data centers, said Bill Geary, executive vice president and general manager.

St. Louis-based Ascent, with more than 330 employees, designs, builds and maintains data centers. Additionally, the company's proprietary Navigator platform will provide an integrated client dashboard designed to support critical data center infrastructure and facilities, Wesco said.
