Nvidia will replace Intel in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, effective prior to the open of trading on Nov. 8. Sherwin-Williams will replace Dow Inc. as well. S&P Dow Jones Indices, which manages the 30-stock benchmark, said the changes were made to ensure a more representative exposure to the semiconductors industry and the materials sector. In after-hours trading, shares of Nvidia rise 2.5% to $138.82 and shares of Intel fall 1.9% to $22.77. Shares of Sherwin-Williams rise 6.1%, to $379.90 and shares of Dow fall 0.7% to $48.61.

Nuwellis reported higher margins and lower operating costs in its preliminary third-quarter results. The medical-device maker reduced operating costs by 30% compared with the prior year, resulting in a 70% margin, equivalent to a 12.7% improvement from the same period in 2023. Chief Executive Nestor Jaramillo said steady market adoption of the company's Aquadex ultrafiltration therapy, used to extract fluids from patients whose fluid overload is unresponsive to medical management, helped fuel third-quarter results. Shares surge 65%, to $2.25, in postmarket trading.
