** Shares of Vodafone rise as much as 1.1% to 73p, stock among top pct gainers on FTSE 100 which is flat

** The Competition and Markets Authority in a provisional ruling said the $19 bln merger between Vodafone and Hutchison's

Three UK is likely to be given the go ahead as investment commitments outweigh concerns over competition

** The CMA said the deal could proceed if the remedies it recommends are implemented, including a legally binding commitment to invest in the roll-out of the 5G network plus short term customer protections

** Hutchison up 0.4% at HK$41.3

** As of last close, VOD up ~5% YTD, compared to FTSE 100's ~6% gain
