Breville Unlikely to Experience Material U.S. Tariff Effects -- Market Talk

Dow Jones11-08

2310 GMT - U.S. tariffs are unlikely to have a material effect on Australian small-appliance maker Breville, Goldman Sachs analysts say. They tell clients in a note that their best guess is that Breville's coffee machines and other appliances could be subject to a 5%-10% tariff increase. They stress that this is not certain, and point out in a note to clients that coffee-machines are not seen as highly price-sensitive products. The analysts add that Breville has raised prices in the past without significant volume effects, and competes against peers facing similar pressures. GS reiterates its "buy" rating on the stock, with a A$34.20 target price. Shares are at A$31.35 ahead of the open. (stuart.condie@wsj.com)
