0923 GMT - European semiconductor companies like Infineon Technologies and STMicroelectronics face the prospect of higher tariffs and a rollback of parts of the CHIPS and Science Act if Trump wins the election, Citi's Andrew M. Gardiner writes in a note to investors. Higher tariffs, whether on imports from China or Europe, could weigh on semiconductor demand globally, he says. Potential questions over the direction of the CHIPS and Science Act could also lead to delays in investment and hinder the recovery for some areas of the semiconductor industry, Gardiner notes.
