Nov 5 (Reuters) - Russia will appoint a new ambassador to the United States in due course if Washington remains ready to maintain contacts, the RIA news agency cited Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as saying on Tuesday.
The previous ambassador, Anatoly Antonov, ended his assignment last month. The Kremlin said on Oct. 7 that a new ambassador would be appointed, dismissing speculation that relations with Washington were being downgraded.
