Air France-KLM EBIT Missed Expectations -- Market Talk

Dow Jones11-07

0907 GMT - Air France-KLM's third-quarter EBIT missed analyst expectations, JPMorgan analysts say in a research note. The Franco-Dutch carrier group reported EBIT of 1.18 billion euros, 5% lower than a company-provided consensus. Costs rose 3.4%, higher than the JPMorgan was expecting. Shares will also come under pressure as estimates for 2024 and 2025 face scrutiny, the analysts add. The company said it expects 2024 costs to rise around 3%, from a prior view of 2%. The group also warned of two potential negative hits to earnings in 2025, arising from Schiphol Airport's tariff hike and the proposed French aviation tax increase. Shares trade 10% lower to 7.96 euros. (pierre.bertrand@wsj.com)
