Top Cryptocurrencies Rise; Bitcoin Nears $70,000 Level

Most major digital assets were firmer late Tuesday with bitcoin (BTC-USD) advancing toward the $70,000 level.

The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks 126 digital assets, rose 2.3% in the past 24 hours.

US stock indexes were also higher as investors awaited the results of the country's presidential election, with the Nasdaq up 1.3%, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.1% and 0.9%, respectively.

Bitcoin jumped 3.2% to $69,557, with the most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume growing 24.7% to $48.07 billion, according to CoinMarketCap data.

Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset, edged up 0.4% to $2,432.

BNB (BNB-USD), the third-largest digital asset by market value excluding stablecoins, gained 2.5%, while Solana (SOL-USD), the fourth-largest, climbed 5.3%.

XRP (XRP-USD) was 1.7% higher, Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) surged 7.5%, and Cardano (ADA-USD) advanced 2.3%.

The US 10-year Treasury yield closed at 4.289%, down from Monday's close of 4.311%, while the five-year yield closed at 4.17%, down from 4.169%.

The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry grew 4.7% in the past 24 hours to $2.31 trillion. Total trading volume increased 27% to $96.08 billion.
