BAE Systems, Rolls Royce Could Be Affected by U.S. Tariffs -- Market Talk

Dow Jones11-06

0924 GMT - BAE Systems and Rolls Royce are the U.K.-listed defense companies most exposed to the U.S. They could come under pressure in the coming months if a potential Republican government in Washington slams tariffs on certain imports, XTB Research Director Kathleen Brooks says. Rolls Royce is the best performer on the FTSE 100 so far this year, she notes, and its stock price is higher by 83%. But after reaching a record high of 569 pounds on Oct. 17, the stock has been trading sideways around 550 pounds, she writes. This suggests that investors are being cautious due to U.S. election risks, she adds. (cristina.gallardo@wsj.com)
