Though ballots across the country are still being tallied, Donald Trump is projected to win the national popular vote outright-the first time a Republican has done so since George W. Bush won in 2004.
As of this morning, Trump had won about 71.4 million votes to Harris's 66.1 million, though millions of ballots populous California are yet to be reported. In 2016, Trump lost the popular vote margin to Hillary Clinton by about three million votes-though he won the electoral college comfortably.
