Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) said Wednesday its Mission Technologies unit has won a $197 million contract to support the US Army's Ground Vehicle Systems Center.
The contract was awarded through the US Department of Defense's Information Analysis Center multiple-award contract vehicle, the company said.
Over the next five years, HII will focus on research and development to improve GVSC's ground combat systems and service lifecycle, with most of the work based in Michigan, it added.
The company's shares were up 5.1% in recent trading.
